Sound into Visual: Post card & Website
In my house, my family prioritize hearing more than seeing. But as a student in art college, I’m also a visual person. I’m trying to make a bridge between visual and hearing. The two connections between my school life and home life. It’s all part of my identity. People tends to forget what sound can bring. Sound can make visual more powerful and it adds more volume to it. If a computer on the desk crash in a silent GIFs, does it make a sound? If you picture it, does it make a sound?
A GIF and postcard visual will be created from the sounds I hear in my room about my household. A visual representation of sound as a method of communication is the purpose of this project.

Background
During my Imagination and the Brain class, there was a discusstion about sensory. All of a sudden, I heard a pencil case zipper from my back. Then I realized I was paying attention to the sound. I imagined in my head, “oh, someone must be closing their pencil case”. Then I got curious why and how I predict what other people did and how
I’m visualizing something I didn’t even look at in my head. And why I never thought of “sound” is so important and allow me to imagine what I never see. According to NewYork Times, Why We ‘Hear’ Some Silent GIFs, “...nearly 70 percent who responded said they could”. This statistic highlights how sound is important to people.

I made a blank front post card with instruction on the back for people who want to explore and try out the method to send out their sense of sound into visual to love one.
